Combine dance and travel with a getaway to Amsterdam on the occasion of the Amsterdam Dance Event which will take place October 19-23 with a line up of electro, house and techno djs and artists, talks and more. Autumn, however, is wonderful in the Dutch capital anyway, where the leaves fall on the banks of the canals and the whole city takes on an atmosphere. Museum lovers, it’s worth a visit in November, as part of Museumnacht where 55 of the city’s museums open after hours.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

For some more sun we are going to Madeira, Portugal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To the west of Morocco, Madeira is consistently warmed year-round by the African sun, so autumn is relatively mild if you’re not up for more autumnal conditions. The region’s subtropical climate means the flora and fauna are in full swing and you can see this for yourself in October with a visit to the botanical gardens or the Nature Festival, 4-8 October, with nature activities to try. Get even closer to Nature by following ancient hiking trails or take the ferry to Porto Santo where a 9 km long beach stretches.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

For culture we go to Bilbao, Spain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There is no better welcome than that of a little puppy and that is exactly what you will find at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. Jeff Koons’ terrier, all covered in flowers, is one of the works of art that make up the permanent collection of contemporary art and is a good reason for art lovers to plan a trip there. You can spend a day inside the museum and a day outside admiring Frank Gehry’s architecture that follows the shape of Bilbao’s Nervion River. Cross the Santiago Calatrava Zubizuri Bridge and then visit the city’s galleries, making the necessary stops at a pintxo bar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

For cozy caf\u00e9s and bars, go to Stockholm<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Here the climate is changing, the days are already much shorter and if you want a good first dose of winter, Stockholm is a good choice. The parks here are countless and endless, so you can take your walks and then relax for hot coffee and sweets in the various caf\u00e9s, experiencing what the Swedes call fika (relaxed outing for coffee, sweets and a chat). Try cinnamon buns, saffron buns, custard cakes and open shrimp sandwiches, and when the time is up, head to S\u00f6dermalm for a drink, where you’ll find bars and new people hanging around.<\/p>\n
