Ferries from Italy to Greece, as well as in the opposite direction, run punctually all year round. The main ports of call on the Italian side are Bari, Brindisi, Ancona, Venice and Trieste. Routes from Greece to Italy.

From the Greek side, the routes are operated from the ports of Patras (220 km from Athens), Igoumenitsa (500 km from Athens) and Corfu. The purpose of your trip depends on your destination in Greece. Igoumenitsa should be chosen if you plan to travel to Northern Greece, Macedonia and Thrace. Patras is a more convenient city for those whose final destination is Peloponnese, Athens or Central Greece, which you can enter from the bridge in Rio, very close to Patras. It is also easy to get from Igoumenitsa to Athens, just the road will take a little longer compared to the route from Patras.

Ferries to Italy run daily all year round. In the summer, the most popular routes increase the frequency of routes from Greece to Italy and vice versa.

The shortest route to Greece is by ferry from Brindisi, and the longest route from Venice and Trieste.

As for the tickets for the route from Greece to Italy, you can still get them on the day of departure. If your trip is to take place during the summer season, then it is preferable that the tickets are issued earlier.
